Applying isn’t just about funding—it’s about being seen, encouraged, and backed by your community. Community-powered support: These scholarships are funded by people who believe in Lopez students and want to see them thrive. Flexible and student-centered: Funds can support a range of educational paths—college, vocational training, certifications, and more. A vote of confidence: Being selected is a reminder that your goals matter and your community is behind you. If finances are a question mark, that alone is a reason to apply.

We’ve designed this process to be clear and approachable:

Share a bit about yourself, your goals, and your educational plans.

This may include transcripts, references, or short written responses (details below).

Submit before Deadline
Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email so you know we have everything we need.

Parents are welcome to support students during the process, but the application should reflect the student’s voice.

Our Process

What to Expect

You can expect a process grounded in care and fairness. 

  • Applications are reviewed thoughtfully by a community-based committee.
  • Awards are based on a combination of need, goals, and available funds.
  • All applicants will be notified of decisions by [insert notification date].
  • Scholarship recipients will be invited to a community celebration and award presentation.

 

Even if you aren’t selected this year, applying helps us better understand student needs and strengthen future support.

Who Should Apply?

  • Lopez Island School District students and graduates. This includes Decatur and Center Islands.
  • Those pursuing college, trade school, certificates, or continuing education
  • Students at any stage of their educational journey
